6 Uses for Leftover Pumpkins
Compost Material: Pumpkins are rich in nutrients and make an excellent addition to any compost pile. Simply chop the pumpkin into smaller pieces and mix it with other organic materials in your compost bin.
Pumpkin Puree: Instead of buying canned pumpkin puree, you can easily make your own using leftover pumpkins. Cut the pumpkin into small chunks, remove the seeds, and roast it in the oven until soft. Then, blend the roasted pumpkin to make a smooth puree that can be used in pies, soups, and other recipes.
Pumpkin Bread: Another delicious way to use leftover pumpkins is by making pumpkin bread. There are many recipes available online for different variations of this tasty treat.
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds: Don't let those pumpkin seeds go to waste! Rinse and dry them, then toss with oil and your choice of seasonings. Roast in the oven until crispy for a healthy and delicious snack.
Pumpkin Seed Trail Mix: In addition to roasting the seeds on their own, you can also mix them with other nuts, dried fruits, and dark chocolate for a tasty trail mix that is perfect for snacking on-the-go.
Pumpkin Soup: Another delicious way to use pumpkin puree is by making a creamy and comforting pumpkin soup. Add in some spices and herbs for extra flavor, and enjoy a cozy meal on a chilly day.
